UGAHacks as an organization strives to responsively gather and store your information. The following policy serves as guidelines as to what information is gathered when you register and attend our hackathons.
We collect user-submitted information when registering for an event and user badge data in the form of QR codes during the event.
Registration information is used for admission and logistics purposes and only by members of the UGAHacks Organization team. This information is not released publicly.
Personal information submitted through the application is shared with our sponsors in the form of aggregated results as well as individualized data. Sponsors will have access to relevant recruiting information of all attendees which includes but not limited to: school year, major, resume, projects, and contact information. Note: The timing of the release of this information is tied to the sponsor's tier with some sponsors receiving it post-event.
Phone numbers are not shared and are reserved for emergency use only.
Upon checking in to our events, all attendees will receive a QR badge that is tied to only one user profile at a time. During our event, we'll collect attendance statistics for workshops, meals, and other side events by scanning the user's badge. This information is then used to gauge popularity of these events and improve future hackathons.
Statistics for sponsored workshops are also shared with their respective companies. These companies and their representatives will have the ability to see explicitly who attended their workshop(s), in addition to aggregated data.
After an event, we will use the registration data for marketing purposes such as creating sponsorship packets, social media posts, and mailing lists for informational emails.
Overall, we aim to use the information gathered to improve future events.
If you have any questions or concerns about our privacy policy, please feel free to contact us at hello@ugahacks.com and we'll be happy to help.
